About us

Louise
I am a mother of 3 and married for 25 years. I mean 10. Feels like 25. I have a 7 year old daughter and twin  5 year old boys and I have the twin skin, bags under my eyes, gray hairs, and drinking problem to prove it. I have a husband who works from home and travels most weeks. I spend most of my time carting children around to different activities, volunteering in their classrooms, and being their full time food coordinator.

I started this blog as a means of motivation to change my life and my family for the better. Hopefully its gives you a lot of laughs and a little motivation to start your own "NACHO" revolution. Carpe Diem one day at a time!

One of my best friends asked me to write a blog with her. Since I pretty much consider myself to be in-eloquent at best, I thought why the hell not. I have been married to Dr.D for almost 13 yrs. We have 7-yr old twins that try my patience and drive me insane on a daily basis, but I still manage to love them. We have one giant dog and a cranky-ass cat. I am CEO and CFO of our little abode, most days I don't mind but on some days I want to run screaming from my house.

A side effect of having twins is making really great twin mommy friends. So, there's that, but those friends live far far away so we keep in constant touch on the internet and chat daily about raising our kids and our humdrum go go go go go lives.
Married to a "keeper" for the last 10 years and Mom to b/g twins almost 7 yrs. old, I lost my mind a lonnnnnnnnng time ago. So, when Louise asked us to join her on this journey of creating self-sufficient kids, what did I have to lose?
Lucky enough to stay home and (badly) manage the household and the kids, I stay incredibly busy, so if you see me do NOT ask me what I do with all my time or I might lose more of my mind and I can't spare a square! I spend a lot of time at the school and running kids to their activities. I just don't have a mini-van - sigh.
